A few years ago, there was a very sick dog, Lu. His owner Sarah was very concerned.

Lu, the dog, had very advanced diabetes. His diabetes was so severe that he lost eyesight, all his limbs had gangrenous infections, and virtually all the hairs fell. Awful awful…Sarah told me that Lu even hallucinated (I just don’t know what it is like when a dog hallucinates, but, I could imagine it must be awful…)

 They also reminded us that human diabetes and dog diabetes were closely linked from the start of its discovery of mechanisms of the disease itself.  In 1920, Dr. Banting at the University of Toronto found that the insulin is the hormone that plays a key role in human diabetes and he found it no where else but by observing a diabetic dog.

 Pet diabetes has similar symptoms to human diabetic symptoms. In fact, they use basically the same insulin that is used for humans. Almost same side effects are observed.

 Also, they also told us that diabetes is growing explosively in pets side by side with the explosion of human diabetes cases. Dogs and cats were domesticated hundreds of thousands years ago. Since then, they lived with us, meaning that they eat with us and moved with us…They basically have developed the same metabolic characteristics as human metabolism. Caution:  The most common form of diabetes in canines, or dogs, is Type 1 diabetes mellitus although 5-20% of cats suffer from it, as well. Cats typically suffer from Type 2 diabetes mellitus, the most common form of diabetes diagnosed in obese humans. Middle aged, spayed dogs are more susceptible to diabetes.  If your dog or cat has a Type 1 diabetes, your dog still needs insulin even with Eleotin Pet Metabolism. It may need a lot less. But, it still needs. Never stop insulin and other diabetes treatments unless the veterinarians tell you so.

Other cautions for dog owners

• Never give alcohol to your diabetic dogs. Highly likely it will lead to coma. Do not leave unfinished glass of beer around where your pet can come and drink it.
• Coffee will raise the heart rate of the dog and can very well lead to seizure.
• Chocolates will lead to vomiting. Chocolate is fatal even in small quantity.
• Garlic will affect the blood of the dog and it will lead to anemia and kidney failure.
• Onions affects the blood of the dog in a similar fashion to Garlic.
• Grapes very often lead to the kidney failure.
